Paris!

London went by so fast! It was so beautiful. We decided the red double decker bus would be our best option to see everything. Chris was pretty jet lag, so he slept most of the bus trip around the city. London was preparing for the big wedding. It was amazing to see all the work they are doing for next week. On Wednesday, we decided to see the Windsor Castle, well we ended up on the wrong train and almost made it to the very south of England. By the time we made it back to the castle at 4:09, they had just closed at 4:00. We took a nice river trip and ate dinner then headed back to London.  We went on the London Eye and walked around London for the rest of the night.

The next day our trip started at 3:00 am and we are not morning people but we got up in time to catch a bus to the airport to catch a flight to Paris. Chris forgave me for the early flight after we got check in and were able to sleep for an hour. Our first day in Paris we went Basilique du Sacre-Cour. We climb up the giant hill then we climb up to the dome (300 steps!) Chris was about to kill me when he found out there was a train! The church was amazing, and all my Catholic education came in handy! We took many long walks and ended the night eating dinner by the Eiffel Tower.

Today we started the day by heading to Versailles. Very big and beautilful, we could have been there the whole day exploring the Chateau and the gardens. We headed back to the city to see the Mona Lisa. Now I can say "I saw the Mona Lisa" but the Louvre has so many cooler pictures and sculptures. Probably the best part of the day was the Eiffel Tower. There are two options for getting to the top, one is the stairs to the second level, or there is an elevator. Well the line was shorter for the stairs, so up we went! Chris again wanted to kill me, but how many times can you climb the Eiffel Tower? He survived and we were able to see the sunset. Amazing! On the way down we took the stairs yet again!

Our backpacks! It teaches you to pack light! It is not fun carrying this beast!

Tomorrow we will start early to see few more things then we are catching a train to Reims. Rob is meeting us there, and then we will drive to Dijon, then into Switzerland and Italy on Monday. The plan is to spend some time in Venice and Rome before April 30th when we head to Athens. We will post again when we find internet.

  2. You had me laughing so hard. By the time you finish your trip, Christopher won't even want a house with stairs. LOL.

I look forward to your next post. Be safe and have FUN! Love you both
